Sam's has probably the best burgers on town. They are consistent and they are made to order so it is always hot. Cold food is the worst. Wings are. Good too. Beer is always cold and the crowd is a mix of every type of person u can think of. And there. Is never any trouble fights etc... Staff has been there for years and know what they are doing. They get ur order and serve you they are busy so not much time for friendly talking with bartender and what not. Which is cool with me I just want wings, burgers and cold beer and they Re good at giving me that. Thanks guys cya this weekend and maybe Sunday too for bills game!!!

This is one of those restaurants where you really want to know how they make their food so you can recreate it at home. It's that good! They never fail to get the order right and the food is delicious. A go to spot for lunch in downtown Charleston with fair prices, great service and delicious food.

Excellent food, excellent service. You can never go wrong here for a beer and a bite to eat. Lunch time is especially good because they usually great specials

I was in Charleston over the weekend and spent both Saturday and Sunday night at Sam's! Loved the Bold Rock Hard Cider on tap and the food was delicious. The bartenders Randy (the best!) and Brian were awesome! Great place with a nice laid back vibe.

Went in for the Game of Thrones themed brunch. Very creative. Was the first brunch I've been to there. All of our food was great. I had steak and eggs and my friends went with the Lazy Dragon (alligator). I didn't get any of the alligator but it looked fantastic. Won't be my last trip to Sam's. Was a little slow getting food and service but overall very good. Gravy was excellent.

I enjoy and recommend Sam's Uptown Café for drinking and partying with a friend. Try their sandwiches, they're amazing.

Was the first time my boyfriend and I have ever been to a bar, so this was a completely new experience for us. The bartender was extremely sociable and nice, helping us with whatever questions we had, and the food was amazing! We will defiantly be back in the near future!

The Samburger is a great balance of sausage and beef. Excellent flavor and just the right tenderness.

My fiance like this she gave compliments to the chef not sure what sandwich it was but she really enjoyed it.

Food is fantastic, good atmosphere, good drink selection. Gotta fix the sewer in the basement. No back flow valves and the smell creeps up the stairs.

Cool little dive bar with good food. I got the chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese. The bartender warned me it was spicy and I was like, yeah that's cool, thinking it's just pepper jack, how hot can it be? Well, it was the hottest damn cheese I've ever had. I didn't even know cheese got that hot. It's a good heat tho. I'm 100% ready to hurt again.

Best bar with food in Charleston. Kitchen is open until 2am, although don't always count on getting food as sometimes they will close it earlier.

Always a great time at Sam's! My wife and I had a couple of beers and an amazing burger. Service was prompt and polite. A solid stop for anyone in Charleston.

Great food in a casual, social environment with a mixed crowd. Gravy is always great, and so are most menu items. A little overpriced for bar food, but you definitely get what you pay for. The location is good if you’re near, and parking is okay if you know what you’re doing. Service is usually good depending on the times. Either way, food comes out hot and delicious. Would recommend.

I wish I could honestly review higher. Maybe my second try will be better. The staff were nice but took 10 minutes to even acknowledge me. The food came out but covered in grease. I would try again but with hesitancy.

Great place downtown to hit up for lunch. They'll fix you up to go if you call in an order. Try the PG fries...steak fries covered with pulled BBQ, cheese, onions, and jalapenos...delicious!

I really do love small local bars with joyful local crowds. The prices here are slightly lower than the bars and restaurants around it. The bartender and staff were awesome and allows you to customize your food order to your liking. The pastrami sandwich was delicious and quite large. The homemade potato chips are a complete game changer that I'm still thinking about! This is a must stop place to visit in Charleston.
